羅馬天主教與異教的淵源
天主教的由來﹕
自從耶穌降世一直到使徒時代，基督的教會便己存在。主後三世紀末，教會組織受羅馬政治法律的影響，形成了羅馬大公教，後稱羅馬教。
公元四世紀，君士坦丁大帝為了讓羅馬帝國統一和加強凝聚力，在基督教會(羅馬教會)和帝國原本的國教「拜日教」，揀了前者定為國教，鼓勵異教徒接受並信奉基督教會，並容許大量異教的特徵，如偶像、畫像、符號和禮儀等，引入及融合基督教會裏。
隨著羅馬帝國分裂為東西兩部分，1054年基督教會（廣義）正式分裂為東西兩派，西派教會以羅馬為中心形成公教傳統，是為羅馬天主教，主要分佈在西歐各國。東派教會以君士坦丁堡為中心，自稱「正教」（正
